Newcastle Sands is a volunteer led Group that works to promote Sands’ vision in our area.
The loss of a baby is devastating and the effects of grief can be overwhelming. You may feel isolated, disorientated and exhausted. It can be hard to take in information, make decisions or imagine how you’re going to cope.
At Newcastle Sands we understand what it is like because we also are bereaved parents. We hope to bring together people who have suffered the tragedy of the death of their child to share information, help and support each other.
We have trained volunteer Befrienders (who are also bereaved parents/grandparents) who can offer support.
We facilitate group meetings once a month, and also provide support by email as well as Facebook messenger.
Anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby, whether recently or many years ago, is welcome to contact us.
We are a focal point for fundraising, with many wonderful and dedicated fundraisers working so hard to support Sands locally and nationally. Help us by giving generously – your donation can make a positive difference and help us to reduce the numbers of babies dying in the UK today.
